Contributor Content Agreement
This agreement applies to routes, photos, descriptions and other original material that you submit to LostInManila.
You keep ownership
You retain ownership of the copyright and other rights that you hold in your content. Uploading or submitting content does not transfer ownership to LostInManila.
Your confirmation
You confirm that you created the content or have permission from its copyright owner to upload and license it. For photographs containing recognizable people, you confirm that you have the permissions reasonably necessary to upload and display them.
Website display only
When you select Website display only, you give LostInManila non-exclusive permission to host, copy, resize, crop, optimize and display the selected content as part of the LostInManila website and service.
LostInManila may not use that content in advertisements, promotional social-media posts, promotional email, brochures, flyers or other standalone marketing materials.
Website and marketing use
When you select Website and marketing use, you additionally allow LostInManila to use the selected content, route, map, excerpt or adapted layout to promote LostInManila through websites, social media, online advertising, promotional email, presentations, brochures, flyers and other digital or printed marketing material.
LostInManila may make reasonable formatting changes such as resizing, cropping, shortening descriptions and adapting a layout.
Contributor credit
Where reasonably practical, user-submitted photos and routes will be credited to the contributor’s LostInManila username or public profile.
Routes and photos are separate
Giving marketing permission for a route does not automatically give marketing permission for photos attached to that route. Each photo keeps its own selected permission.
Route visibility
- Public
- After approval, the route may appear in the Routes directory and on the contributor’s public profile.
- Unlisted
- After approval, anyone with the exact route link may view it. It will not appear in the Routes directory or public profiles.
- Private
- Only the route creator and LostInManila administrators may view it.
Moderation
LostInManila may review, reject, hide or remove submitted content for legal, safety, privacy, quality or community reasons. Granting permission does not guarantee publication.
Permission record
LostInManila may record the contributor account, content identifier, selected permission, agreement version and acceptance date as evidence of the permission selected for that content.
